Free Time

On our second day we had some time of prayer at 6:30, breakfast, 2 sessions, and then all day to roam around HK. It's been very encouraging in our times of prayer and Bible study ;)

We had a long day of walking :/ here are some of the pics I got and things we did ;)

Got to use the subway system to go to the pier where the Star Ferry crosses the harbor. We were headed to Hong Kong island...

Waiting for the subway train...oh yeh...just cost like 50 cents to take the subway. Nice huh?!

Walked past a luxury area of shops and hotels...this area was just a mound of dirt 5 years ago, but is now a hotel and boardwalk of nice shops...the interesting thing about it are these trees (4 other surrounding ones) that were saved and built around. They are so old that to build the hotel, the government made them save the trees ;) pretty cool

Made it to the pier and seeing across the harbor ;)

Taking the ferry across ;) cool

We had a huge walk to get to this place....we took the longest stretch of escalators up the mountain and walked to this botanical gardens and small zoo (free too!) to see this beautiful sight! I love the skyline behind the fountain.

A little more walking and we made it to the tram that goes to the top of the hillside and overlooks the harbor and mainland.

On our way up, it gets pretty steep! Michael here is trying to stand up without holding the bar, and has to do so like this ;) crazy!

YouTube Video

Here is at the top of the hill ;) so nice ;) a little hazy today but still great

They have a nice little mall at the top there...a nice place to relax and enjoy the view

Here is the tram entrance at the top ;) cool design

Here we are onboard the Star Ferry again going back to the boardwalk to see the light show ;)

It was fun to be on the edge of the water and see all these famous buildings light up in sync...a little slow in the beginning but finished well ;)

Walked down the boardwalk and saw the famous Bruce lee statue ;) so sweet

Great day of the Word, fellowship and touring the city ;) too much walking though...felt it when I laid down :/ ugh

This is the place to go! Chowww!

Mike Snider and Zach are too!

Here it is...HK noodles are great ;) they are slightly fried and full of flavor with the seasonal cabbage on top

Check it out on your next trip to Hong Kong ;)

Night out on the streets of Hong Kong

There are a lot people here in HK...man...crazy! It's fun to get out there and be part of them ;) it is soooo humid though, especially out in the shopping areas where the buildings are tightly together ;)

Chowwww! In the heart of HK!

We were just walking around, checkin out the shopping places and just chillin ;) here one o our brothers, Kyle, was telling a funny joke ;) loosing weight from all the laughing!

At the end of the night we had some McDs...the boyz gettin caught ordering their desserts ;)

Zach and I rocked the soft cream and fudge juice!

Good night to our first night in HK ;)

Hong Kong Trip!

I was not planning on going, but God gave me a three fold blessing! God provided for me financially, I got time off from my work, and my wife allowed me to go! ;) I really desired to go but figured all of these areas were going to hinder me from going. God is good (always) !

Well Pastor Mike and I took off early Monday morning to the airport ;) we actually met Pastor Peter from CC Cheonan at the gate ;) here we are in Hong Kong safely

At the conference in the first session ;)

God is great and will be doing great things! Pray for us that we will be built up and filled with God's Spirit, being equipped to go back and minister in His power.

Housewarming (집뜰이) Party

More like parties! God blessed us to finish arranging our home and making it people ready, so we opened it up to our friends ;)

First we had some of Nayeons friends over to our house on Saturday for food and chatting ;) Nayeon worked really hard (I wanted to help but she wouldn't let me! lol but I cleaned for her ;) ) and made some awesome food for them!

On Sunday night after our Bible study (Also celebrated our 3rd year for CC Daejeon!) we had the church come over and enjoy some food and fellowship. We had the same menu as Saturday, pastas, salad, and desserts ;) it was a packed house! We don't have much room at all, but we got some 16 or more people packed up in there ;) big group, big blessing ;)

Nayeon chatting with Gloria ;)

Korean culture- for housewarming parties, people normally bring toilet paper and washing machine detergent...those things are always needed so we were blessed! Thank you Lord!

Birthday!

Well my birthday happened a couple days back ;) The Lord blessed me with a great wife ad given her discernment on my favorite gift...food! Lol

This was my bday breakfast...the soup is the most important...its just birthday tradition to give them this seaweed and beef soup. Culture lesson- after giving birth to a baby, mothers in Korea normally eat this soup EVERY meal for one month! Literally! So on birthdays, people normally crave it ;)

My nephew and sister said happy bday on skype with a nice toy cake ;)

I even got to meet my parents too! They sang to me also with cake and presents too!

At night I met Pastor Mike and Dean for some dinner at the new Mexican restaurant in town ;)

When I got home though my wife had made me a nice surprise of balloons and her first birthday cake! I was so proud of her! She made me a red velvet cake ;) oh so good!

Overall, wonderful birthday! Big 25! Quarter of a century! Wow ;) God give me many more years to serve you!

New cousin!

Well my cousin Christina had her second baby this week...9 pound 11oz if I remember correctly...and his name is Conner Keene ;) very cute

I got to meet on skype with them, but a lot of my family was there too! I saw my aunts and uncles, cousins and my grandma! I was blessed. Pray for me because I miss times like this when I can't be home for my family. I am not sure if I am going home for Christmas this year...money is tight because we are saving for a bigger home..we'd like to fill it in the future and our home now is already full with two ;)

Birthdays at the church

After Sunday night service we celebrated two birthdays..Lena's birthday from Wednesday (same as my dad's) and mine which is Tuesday ...I am turning a quarter of a century...I can't believe it! Well it was great celebrating with my church family ;)

YouTube Video

The cake was made by my mother in law! She made a huge rice cake cake! It was so good (and healthy too...lots of soy beans, pumpkin, jujubes)! Thanks a lot mom! My wife cut it all up and passed it out...but there was a lot of leftovers so we gave it all out in plastic wrap ;)

Great day!

Saturday in Sintanjin

Saturday was awesome...woke up at 9 and then had breakfast...sat on the couch and both my wife and I passed out until 2pm bwahhahaha so sweet to have a good day to sleep a lot!

Went to Sintanjin for celebrating my birthday and having dinner. Before we went to the house..we cruised to the dam and walked around...its been getting nice lately! Definitely cooling off and heading toward fall...havent had to use my air conditioner this week! Here they had some face painters...but we went with the hand ;)

Here was dinner! Ohhhhh juicy! Duck! It's so good! It amazingly tastes like ham ;) very fatty taste, definitely not like chicken !

Me and my babe ;)

Her brother took a video singing Happy Birthday but I'll probably never get it, cuz I never see him normally ;)

It's ok...my birthday is Tuesday the 23rd so I'll probably have another time when people will sing for me ;) gotta love Birthdays !

An eventful long weekend!

Got to meet my sister and nephew in skype the other day ;) he is getting cuter! He had a haircut like his uncle!

On Saturday we went over to Sintanjin for time with the family..mom was making some kimchi ;)

Nayeons mom and dad bought us some cold noodles for lunch...it's perfect in this hot weather ;)

At night time we went out to hang with Kalvin and his girlfriend, Yu-Jin ;) it was nice spending time and getting to know them better. Both of them are fairly new believers, so pray that we can minister to them ;)

Well no pictures from Sunday this week, but on Monday we had a holiday...Independence from Japan day...I love holidays!

Spent time at the hospital close to our home...Nayeons uncle is in te hospital for a hurt disc in his back...will be there for some time :/ the family went and hung out...

He was feeling well enough to go out to lunch together with everyone though...so we had cold noodles again (mul nang myun..literally cold water noodles)...Nayeon and her mom in front of the pumpkin yut (kinda like taffy) ...

Here is her uncle! He is such a character! Went out in public in his hospital clothes! Lol ...when I said to take a picture...everyone backed away (no one wants proof of being there! lol) haha good times!

We are in Kyeryeong mountain area...chilling and playing in the creeks ;) fun day to relax on Independence day!

YouTube Video

In the creek now...lots of fun

YouTube Video

At the restaurant by the creek...

YouTube Video

After this we went to go see a movie together...it was my first Korean movie! It was a comedy movie, so despite understanding almost none of the words, I could follow the story ;) very fun times with my wife and inlaws

Last part of my crazy 3 day rest was spending time with Nayeons grandpas brother. We had some sashimi and some chinese food ;)

Wow what a blessed holiday weekend!
