OK for those of you that were guessing on what this is....
No...its not an egg....nice try....lol.....no its not snot (you should be ashamed of yourself for thinking that! ^* but you did make me laugh....well snort....keep that a secret though!)
It is Citron Tea! In Korean its called "You-Ja-Cha" (유자차), cha meaning tea....mmm so good!
As you can see in this picture, what they do is they make a marmalade out of the citron fruit (practically a mix of orange and lemon)...but less of my babbling....listen to some pros from Wikipedia!
"The fruit is thinly sliced (peel, pith and pulp) and soaked or cooked in honey or sugar to create a chunky syrup. This syrupy candied fruit is mixed with hot water as a fragrant tea, where the fruit at the bottom of the cup is eaten as well. Often preserved in the syrup for the cold months, Yujacha is served as a source of fruit in winter."
Interesting huh?! I really like this tea....it is amazing when it is served hot or cold! You gotta try some YUJACHA!
For those of you who are Taiwanese or Japanese natives/residents...there is an equivalent in your country. Look for 柚子茶 (Pinyin: Youzi cha, Japanese: yuzucha). Happy hunting for this really great drink!
Oh yeah, it's called "Yuzu" in Japan. We used to live on that stuff on mainland Japan. It's great when you have a cold; or even if you are just cold. Lots of vitamin C too. Enjoy!
