First night in Daejeon

Well we went out to dinner.....mmmm......got some vegetables and beef.....dont know the name yet.....ill have to figure that out!
In Korea, they always bring a bunch of little side dishes, and they are all pretty good, things like kimchi, radishes (just like daikon in japan), tofu, chiles, rice, etc. But most places have a bunch of different things, so its like a surprise at each restuarant.....this is kind of the style of each restuarant, just different foods (pork place, beef place, chicken, etc.)
The first two nights we spent the night in a hotel that Mike found us....they are pretty nice, free internet, nice shower, cool stuff....we are waiting until we get into our new apartment, its not completely ready for us yet....
Nice bed....Sosimo playing with his new phone that Mike gave him and I.....we are blessed!

On our way to Korea!

Well we are gone now from Okinawa.....this was our last view of it. Okinawa has always had beautiful clouds....I hope to see them again one day! Thanks to Joanna, Ichino, Naoko, and Tamiko for seeing us off at the airport...(oh yeh Tommy & Joel too!)
Well....Okinawa looked nice and warm.....this is over mid Korea, almost into Incheon International Airport.....all snow covered.....its gonna be cold...
About to land in Incheon, Seoul...
I just thought that these looked like people we knew in Okinawa....haha lol
I see Tom Cotton on the far right.....and Neely, third from the right.....lol miss ya guys!

Well after we landed....we waited for a little and didnt see Mike Loudermilk (he was supposed to meet us), so we called him, he had been waiting at another gate the whole time....oops....well we met up and had time to kill before we got on our 3 hours bus ride to Daejeon....when i mean "time to kill" i mean eat.....we had some KFC....mmm.....
Well this is my "excitedness"....jk.....bad picture sorry....Mike gave me a basics to Korean....i was about to ask him how we would learn a little Korean and then he pulled this out....i will try my best! i've already been able to read some korean.....even though i dont really understand it....but my vocabulary is growing! Pray for me and Sosi to learn so we can bless others.
Sosi was a little cold....hehe....

Praise the Lord for a safe trip..... More to come stay tuned....

Goodbye Okinawa......I'll see you again!

Well....one of the videos from when I went to Kawaii (Cute) Preschool for English lessons says my feelings the best....I already miss Okinawa, and all my friends that I have met there in the 2 years living there....but I know that I will see them again! May God continue to bless all the works done for His Name on the little island of Okinawa. God pour out your blessings. Shine your face upon them God. Amen.

This will probably be my last post about Okinawa for a while.....but.....if people from Okinawa send ME UPDATES....maybe ill post a picture or two and write some juice on you.....i would always love to hear from you guys! People in the states....hit me up also! Blessings!

New Years...

Well around New Years time, everything in Okinawa pretty much stops...literally. Most shops shut down, everyone is off work and school, they just chill and hang out. And that is pretty much what we have been doing too. Except that there is a big event at the temples in each town area. They have pretty much a big gathering, with food and carnival type stuff outside, and then a huge line into the temple. People pretty much go and give money offerings to the temple, like indulgences for their salvation or prayers to the god they worship. It is very sad, because there are huge lines, thousands of people that go to show respect to the temple, when it does nothing else for the people but take their money to pay for the temple to be there for the rest of the year. I am glad that our church is not just a place that people come to and pray, give their money, and leave. But we offer ourselves in ministering to each person, talking to them, encouraging them in the faith they have, giving them something to leave with other than an empty feeling of obligation to our church, but hopefully the Holy Spirit guiding and bringing fruit into their life. Please have a heart for the people around you, dont let your eyes get used to the sin that is always there, giving into the lies that the enemy desires to create. Open your eyes, God desires to do a work with you, see a need, fill it by the power of God's Spirit.

New Years is no New Years without Martinelli's....mmm...

Well we went to the Futenma Shrine....with some tracts to evangelize to the people there....here is Robby giving a money tract....

Here is a man after he threw in some money, praying....you can see people in the back in the main sanctuary, there is a man in a robe chanting too...

The symbol of New Year, the year of the Cow

People ceremonially wash their hands....if only they were washed by the blood of Jesus and His Word....

A map of the whole Futenma shrine...

They sold lots of different things, keychains, papers, and these arrows....i really dont know the significance, but they cost about ¥1000-¥1500 each, about $10-$15...

All the people walking up to the shrine to pray....

People buy these little wood tablets for $5 and then write their prayers on them....

I found some English ones....

The Shrine from the 330 road....about 2 blocks from Foster Base....

Carnival food....mmm.....the only good part of the event.....yakisoba, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, big hotdogs, tempura, corndogs, etc.....alot of fried stuff....the best kind of stuff....

Well again please pray for us here in Okinawa....
