Chungnam Daehakkyo Cherry Blossom Festival

One of the students gave us a heads up on a festival happening at the University right next to our home....so on our Monday night we went out with a bunch of our friends and looked at the flowers....

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom (in korean they are called 벗꽃 or butgoat...sound funny but just the translation...it literally means friend flower...interesante)

All the crew....on top left to right...Bruce "Hobbit", Calvin, Gloria, Petah (like how Wendy from Peter Pan would call Peter with an English accent....PETAH!! haha), SOSIMO, our brother (of course this means that i forgot his name...sorry no name brother), and Praise (what is he doing?^^~)

this homeboy was cooking up some cakes with the famous sweet red bean inside....soo hot....burned my mouth...

had to get some corn....was just missing the mexi-style elotes...butter, mayo, cheese...but this was good....and only like a buck fiddy'....nice....

Afterwards we went to naraebang again....or kareoke....sorry no pics....thanks guys for a great night!

Burger King....

Now this is one place I would NEVER....i mean NEVER...eat at in america....but here, it just seems nice and clean and better....just like most american restaurant that a foreign country franchises on....always better...except for their selection sometimes...anyway...

all da boyz chilled out after a Bible study...and chowed...

Jeff and simon...

Today was a special day...no specific reason...just cuz....

I thought it would be good for their English to go out and shop with only English...so I gave them each 3000won, like 2 bucks, to buy anything at the convenient stores....these are all the things we got....mmm junk food...(mann....jeff's face is pretty....pretty scary...lol)

All I have to say is that I did not teach them this, they just started singing it...that is my official statement...crazy kids...and yes....i dont know the words.....

Okinawa here I come...

Well it is confirmed...I bought my ticket today to go back to Okinawa for my VISA renewal. We found a travel agent in this hotel in Yuseong (pronounced like the sign but spelled correctly here), and they gave me a pretty good deal...

Praise the Lord...thanks to God for His provision!

Neighborly fun...

Our Landlord wanted us all to meet together downstairs in her restaurant to hang out....and may i add....with some free samgyupsal....mmmmmmmmmm....it was the BEST...i LOVE it!

These are all the dudes that live in our apartment...from left to right round' the table...BJ(just a friend though not a neighbor), Charlie, Evan, Sosimo, John, Kenny, and ME!

Our landlady just wanted to give us some instructions....but then it was just hangout time...it was a blessing because we know that some smoke and drink, but they didnt do anything around us, probably because they know we are Christians and choose not to...

But we wanted to hang out more...so we went Noraebang with them....YATA! Kareoke in Korea is pretty great...and koreans know how to sing too....its not suprising to get really good singers all the time...

dah boyz....get jacked by the flash...
Please help us by praying that we could share the Gospel with these guys and win them to Christ!

Bowling...

Well we found a good bowling alley last week...so we decided to check it out...

Sosi was playing kinda bad so he whipped out the ball slide...nah jk....he went to the bathroom, and when he came back his ball was nicely set on top....haha

Mike looking at the damage I caused on the first game (4 Strikes baby!)...i have to admit, playing Wii bowling has improved my game....but not on the 2nd and 3rd game....it was all downhill from the first...

Sosi bowling at sophisticated at whatnot... (i think he is trying to control the ball with his mind....still has dem' jedi mind tricks Tommy....lol)

Sunday Night worship...

I've been waiting for a while to get a video of our Sunday night worship...but then again I cant take pictures or videos....cuz im playing....hmm...well it is always a blessing to hear people worshiping Jesus huh...here ya go....blessins'

WAR! ....nah jk...

So the other day we are going to the Orphanage....when out of nowhere this sweet ol' tank shows up....sooo sweet...was cool to see one this close up...kinda made me start thinking crazy things....like if I was here and North Korea and China declared war or something....and we were stuck, and then there were tanks rollin up and down the street, and then I would have to fight, and save everyone....lol

but seriously, it made me think of Hudson Taylor III (who actually just went home to be with the Lord) who lived through the Japanese occupation and fighting while living in China as a kid, and how his parents wanted to leave, but then decided to cancel the boat ticket home to share the Gospel and keep trying to be an example....hey....it could happen....

anyways....this blog was totally random....but it is just what i was thinking...sorry for being honest....lol

...Darcy....>>>>>>

This is our good friend Darcy and we were extra sad this Saturday because she left us...story of my life....meet nice people....and then they leave you to go study english with philippino people....jk

Nah, Darcy is just headed to the Philippines to attend the new Jinsoo Institute...but guess where....the same place that I have visited in the PI.....Iloilo!!! Isn't that crazy....homeboy Jinsoo started another school in the same city where there is another Calvary Chapel....so i told Darcy about it and hopefully she will get to meet some of those guys!

Well I will post any updates I get from her, she said she would keep in touch....God bless you Darcy! Grow in the Lord!

Jinsoo boyz!

First of all.....priceless picture of mike....bwhahaha

Secondly...this past week we had the Bible study at Jinsoo's....but it was amazing because eveyone was a dude....no girls whatsoever...SHOCKING!

Mike says that in the 3 years he has been doing the study this has never happened. And we actually had a good group too, it wasnt like 2 dudes....it was cool having a all dude choir this week during worship....

Pray for these homeboys, that they would still be motivated to live for Jesus and seek His will for each of their lives. God has a great plan for these men...amen?

Dentist visit...

Well...not that it is fun to go to the Dentist....it was a blessing to get it done here and not have to wait until I go back to the states...thanks Mike...
Sosi was in and out....they just said he was good and put me up...he'll have funnier pictures than me, i was actually too scared to take the camera close...sosi got the upclose and personal shots...

but i did get a video....lol poor Mike....he went first and Sosi and I both beat him...

Prognosis is that I still am cavity free for 22 years now...whooowhoooo! plus the doctor said I had perfect teeth and to come back in 1 year....lol 1 year...i think he was practicing his english...cuz i think if he were practicing his business tactics he would say come back in a month...anywayz...

Fun with the boyz...

another fun time with some korean kids...if you can tell what is happening....the rules of this spin off of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" is that if you lose, you have to protect your head with the hat. If you win then you are able to pick up the stick to hit him on the head, unless the head is already covered with the hat...mwhaahahaha...lol

im tellin you....its easy to entertain koreans kids....lol

(INTER)National Purple Day!

I got a great email from the Barrera Family that used to attend at CC Living Water in my hometown...it was about this new national day that they are supporting...National Purple Day...Well Purple Day started in Canada to help support Epileptics and to have a day to remember their fighting spirit and show them we care so much for them.

Well in the Barrera family is one of their sons that I used to help watch over in the Children's ministry at CCLiving Water, and his name is Gabriel (aka FRIEND...lol miss that lil guy) and he also has epislepsy....so the way that they wanted me to help them is by taking a picture wearing purple and sending it to them, so that Gabriel can look at the people praying for him....

Well I told Sosi, and so he borrowed my shirt cuz he had no purple....and then we were at church....and since Sally (above Sosi) already had a purple jacket on, we decided to include them in the picture...even though I had to lend my jacket to Lucy (above me)....anyways....this is for you Gabriel! Love you friend...

Remember to keep him in prayer....and check out the Barrera Family Website....
