Lunch in Gung-Dong

We have a bible study teaching through the book of Mark on Thursday in Gung-dong at a presbyterian church...after the study we usually go to hang out with people and get to know them with some good food involved....here is Ryan (from China), Alfred, and Jesse....
Wow! It was awesome! We were sitting down and we saw one of my good old friends from when I was living in Korea last year! Peter....on the right with the glasses....has been in Europe traveling, so I havent had a chance to meet up with him. He is a great Christian brother, hopefully I will meet him after my trip in California.
Mike, I, and Nayeon....Mike doesnt like pictures as you can tell ^^ Nayeon didnt have work, so she came for the study and lunch time. ^^
Some of the ladies from the study....Smartie, college age girl (forgot her name oops), and Mary....
Good time at lunch with the people we get to share the Word with. Pray that God will minister to their hearts and receive a true relationship with Him!

Sunday at CC Daejeon

Jesse, Kalvin, and me at church Sunday morning....Kalvin wasnt planning on staying for church, but we were blessed to hang out a little bit longer... everyone was happy to see him again....he is so busy at school really far away. Pray for our brother!
Sunday night Bible study with Pastor Mike...we are always blessed to hear the Word!
Jesse and Daniel Kim playing worship....its a blessing....my bass guitar from the states is being used now! Daniel Kim knows a little bass, so he picked it up and rocked it for Jesus! Continue to serve the Lord brother!
Here is a little bit of worship from our morning service with Jesse...Everlasting God...Praise the Lord!

Mokpo Monkey visit...

Well my buddy Kalvin from Mokpo came down to hang out with me....I havent seen him for about a year and I really was happy to see him again....Sosi and I got to know him well last year in Korea....We hung out at a coffee shop and caught up on whats been happening....
We were talking about Sosi, and he pulls out something that Sosi gave him when he left....Sosi's gym membership card... awkward right?!?! lol
lol we were cracking up about Sosi giving this as a present....but we know that it meant that Sosi wanted Kalvin to get a buff, in the Lord....putting on that armor of God....just funny reminder....Pilsoo still has it Sosi....^^
Good times....just went back to my pad and stayed up really late, and then went to church the next morning....more pics of church later....

Some HoH Construction...

Just wanted to show some pictures of House of Hope putting more bricks down for a path....they did a good job...a lot of people working on it....probably just a day to lay the bricks and maybe a couple days to fill it with sand or grout it...really cool...
I got to help carry in some bricks and do some of the heavy work...Praise the Lord!

300 days...

9 months or about 300 days ago Nayeon and I started dating, so we celebrated by having one of my favorite Korean foods....Samgaetang! It is a whole hen boiled and made into like a rice porridge soup. Inside the hen they put a big chunk of GINSENG! Super healthy and super good!
I'm so happy the Lord brought this girl into my life ^^

Chungnam Foreign Food Festival

I got to go a festival after one of our Presbyterian Bible studies...there is a lot of foreigners here at Chungnam National University (Nayeon graduated from school here)...they had a week long food festival to share their amazing cultures. My favorite part of this was that a plate of something only cost about 50 cents! CHOWWW!

In this picture I tried the fried pork and Garlic pepper item....
There were a bunch of things to choose from....
This was Bangladeshi curry....Lamb curry....^^
Homie serving me up some rice and curry....
The Japanese Okonomiyaki was a hit here....but probably the biggest hit was the Turkish Kebab....there was like a 30 minutes wait for it!
This is one of our buddies form the Bible study, Alfred....I'm pretty sure he has not received Christ, but comes consistently. Please pray for the Lord to grab ahold of his heart!
I like how you can see the food through my glasses....
the okonomiyaki was pretty good....but there was really great food everywhere....i guess I just love food....

Sprayed!

There are weird things that they put up around Cheonan area lately....and its happened a few times already, but we finally got video of it....Some explained to me why they have this mist sprayed at the cars as they drive out of Cheonan. I guess that there is a bug/virus problem because of the pigs in the area, and they are trying to prevent the spread of it. Its interesting because there are military people in charge of it. All I know is that we make sure the windows and air vents are closed! lol

Gapcheon Picnic

The weather is so amazing in Korea now, with spring upon us....you have to get out and enjoy it....^^ Nayeon and I got a bunch of food together and cooked it at the river close by....smile Nayeon!
getting prepared for some sweet food....
Well we got some Sam-Gyup-Sal and tore it up! For those of you that know this meal, you can understand how blessed I was. Samgyupsal is pork that you cook here on the grill, and you put it inside your lettuce wrap, with some other red chili pepper side dishes, some salt and sesame oil, and then.....BOOOOM! Amazing flavors combined in your mouth for pure euphoria....lol I think I went a little overboard describing this one....now my mouth is watering...^^
One of my favorite things to do is to put KIMCHI on the grill also, when the pork is cooking....ahhh cha cha....if it is normally too spicy for the average person, it cools down the spicy flavor but brings out a more vinegar flavor. Love that vinegar....
There is the SANG-CHU lettuce wraps, the spicy red pepper side dish you put inside (forgot the name....sorry), and of course my favorite....SAM-JANG....a mixed paste of Red pepper paste and soybean paste....mmmm
After we ate, we decided to go and walk on the water....but how?!?!?!
lol....did you guys guess how it was possible to sit in the middle of a running river?! There is a stone path that cuts through it....its still kinda dangerous, because you have to walk stone to stone with gaps in between....well we enjoyed dipping our feet in the refreshing water...
I'm so happy I get to spend extra time with Nayeon on the weekends and do fun things like this! Love you Nayeon

Drawing Jesse on Sunday...

On one Sunday morning in Children's ministry we were trying to show the kids that without sight from the Lord, the things that we do dont really come out the way that we want. They get all messed up....we decided to draw Jesse as an example...
Jesse is surprised how life-like David is drawing him, with no sight! lol jk
David did really good....with sight....lol
reminds me of those old commercials...."And this is your mind on drugs"....lol I love how the ears are floating and his eyes are on his chest....^^
After Children's ministry, we normally go over to Pastor Mike's house for some food that the women in the church want to bless us with....mmmmmm thanks ladies!
The food was so good Logan died.....Mario trying to resuscitate him....^^
Was a good time on Sunday....Lord blessed our time!

Spring time is awesome!

So Nayeon and I had a free Saturday afternoon, so we decided to go driving down the way a bit to a part of the river that has these really pretty yellow flowers....well they are really more like weeds....but they look pretty, because there are just fields of them!
I love this picture...love this girl...
Can you find her??? She is hiding somewhere....^^
lol good times...except that I lost her in the field and drove home alone....lol jk Spring is so much different here in Korea than California...or maybe I just always missed the green trees and the beautiful flowers everywhere....i dont remember them standing out so much there in Cali....anyways....^^
