식장 Mountain...Sikjang

Ok....now these are a lot better! Good job Calvin!!

Daejeon is pretty beautiful at night....
I remember that I was sooooo hungry...but we were gonna eat at the house, so we only had one odeng....(like a fish cake thing...doesnt sound good, but in the soup and a little sauce...mmm)
...it is like bread practically...mmm....
....
my homies...Calvin and Sosi...
we invited Calvin to come over to our house afterwards...to grub for real....Hye-young had made some curry for us before they left, so we whipped some up with some baked beans, some rice, and dont forget kim, kimchi, and string cheese....hehe....mmm....great meal....then we kicked it and watched a flick...fun times...

CNN...

I was reading this post on CNN.com about how the US and South Korea are both getting kind of worried about North Korea and their intentions for their nuclear activity lately. According to this, it says that America has changed the alert status to "Defcon 4", which means we are not necessarily at peace (this is the definition I found...).
DEFCON 4
This refers to normal, increased intelligence and the heightening of national security measures.
I read somewhere else too that the US is flying 12 advanced F-22 Raptors to an Okinawa, Japan military base....(Kadena get ready!) Kinda freaky, to think that their might be some type of fighting about a mere 100 miles from here in Daejeon...im really not worried though, I really dont think there will be any fighting, but just interesting to think about. What would I do? Would Daejeon be hit? Would North Korea even get very far? hm....i dont know....but all I do know is that America and South Korea better be careful with the steps they take, I know they dont want to stretch even thinner, militarily, and fight North Korea's allies, like China, Iran, places that are not too happy with US to begin with. Well, even more things to pray for....God you are in control....do Your will. Amen...

Cleaning da church

It was just about that time....the church floor was getting pretty bad, so Sosi went out, bought some scrubbers, we took out all the chairs, and went to it...it was a little relaxing, just worshiping the Lord as we worked....i normally hate cleaning, but today I dedicated it to the Lord, and I hope He is pleased. For me, it was worship, a sacrifice of service.

It actually came out really good too....Praise the Lord...

Sunday Night Bible Study

Sunday was really no different with people not coming, even though Pastor Mike wasn't...He tried to warn them that Sosi would be teaching, but I guess they were feeling daring...hehe jk...We led worship like normal, and then I got up and shared a piece of my testamony, encouraging people to serve Christ with their all, choosing to serve Him.

Joshua 24:15 "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

After that, Sosi got up and taught in Joshua 1...hitting the same message of people going forward with what God has called them to do, to push through the borders that they are on (Just like the Children of Israel on the border next to the Jordan River)...moving on to the great plans that God has for each person...awesome job Sosimo...

Sosi teaching an acronym "B.I.B.L.E." in his message....watch out Sos, dont touch that wall...haha jk buddy Good job!

Sunday Morning at Peter's Church

Well, normally, every Sunday we head out to Calvary Chapel Cheonan and do ministry there, but since Mike is still in California, he told them that we weren't going to come, so we had the morning off....we were tempted to sleep in....hehe jk Lord! No breaks...keep going....

Anyways, our friend Peter invited us to his church where his Dad is the Pastor. We were interested because we had never been to a Korean church before, and this was probably the only chance to get to go...We took him up on it...

He also asked us to do some music, so we played two songs, Sosi sang and I sang and played guitar, but we also had his worship team also, so it was fun....it has been a long time without a drummer and bass and piano! So sweet! .....first, Waves of Mercy, which was hilarious, watching people do the hand motions with Sosi, and then secondly, we did All in All, just sweet worship!

Sorry no pictures for those though....ㅠㅠ

Peter asked me to help him out with the beginning worship, because they do not normally have a guitar player...

Peter usually leads the worship team and the congregation, but from the drums....wow...i've never seen that, it takes a lot of talent and God's gifting to sing and play drums, keep going buddy!
Me playing with the team...know what song it is? (...Nothing But the Blood of Jesus! in korean of course!)

the choir singing....awesome...
After the service, Peter's Dad led the congregation in another song, it was cool....sorry I thought it was a little funny when he was getting excited and bouncing....you might hear me say something when he does....lol Worship is awesome...

We had lunch with the church, and then went to Peter's house and played some games with some of the youth and stuff....funny....we played "Bong.....ZZZIPPPP!" hehe such a great game...anyone remember that one? lol

Peter showed us his room....hehe check the vid...lol

A great day....thanks again Peter....God bless the work in your home church, may God continue to be preached, and may more disciples be raised up! Blessins!

Saturday morning.. ^^

We had a great Saturday morning...this week we made some Mexican breakfast burritos and waffles...mmm....Then John led us in some awesome worship, God was praised! I got to teach a message after that, more of a special message since Mike's wife, Hye-young, was not here (she normally teaches the girls and I teach the dudes).

We had a good time of fellowship too afterwards, just talking, eating again (hehe), and playing worship music on the guitar, piano, and cajon....Praise God!

Daejeon Night Life....

Well one of our buddies, Calvin, had been wanting to take us up to this mountain that overlooks our whole city of Daejeon at night.....kinda like a look out point..hehe...

But it was really awesome, even though these pictures do no justice at all...its kinda like these pictures are from left to right....Calvin took some sweet pics....when he gives them to me, i'll post them...peace!

Minto and an Interview...

This is our homie Peter. He works at Jinsoo in the media department...he wanted us to do him a favor, and take an interview with him, speaking for about 30 seconds or so to encourage new students learning English to keep trying, to not give up, stuff like that....but because we helped him, his boss paid for dinner at Minto, the restaurant that they have on the 1st floor of Jinsoo...hehe....of course we'll do it if there is food....hehe it was like a nice steak/chicken meal, with a potatoe (but it had whipped cream on top, not sour cream....really ackward...)

Great night! Thanks Petah!

Miso morning....mmmm

Well, I bought some Japanese style miso at the store the other day, because I have been craving some soup for breakfast...I bought a big thing that will last me about 15 meals...hehe

I need to be eating breakfast more regularly, so this was a good start....this is a usual Korean breakfast.....soup, rice, kimchi, maybe some kim (seaweed)....ahh soo good...

but the best part, other that physically eating, was my spiritual food, my time with my Jesus...

Cheongju and Cheonan Wednesday...

Well this week was pretty sweet in Cheongju...we go there for the Jinsoo Bible Study, now at noon instead of the 5pm time we had before...So since Mike isnt here, I got to teach this week's message. I taught on Psalm 63:1-4, which is a great psalm. Read IT! It is an awesome psalm and song...

Afterwards....we had some time to kill, so we went to the other building for some coffee, but we saw our friend (there next to Sosi) Esther, and then this homeboy, Shin, came too. They both attend the Bible study, but they were just hanging out and studying English there.

Well as we were relaxing, they started asking me some questions, and it just opened up for me to share my faith, and the gospel. Now Esther is a Christian (Daniel Kim there across from her, he was with us that day!), but Shin is not, but he has still been coming to the Bible Study. Well he started asking a lot of questions, and we were just sharing a lot of Scriptures, and explaining the gospel and God's love for him. He did not make any committments to Christ, but we are hopeful that he will seek God. He is also Buddist, so we pray for his salvation. Thanks for you out there also praying...

After that, we took off to Cheonan (Where we go to Calvary Chapel on Sunday morning), to teach another Bible Study at Dangook University. It has about 10,000 students, and there was a huge yearly festival this week, so it was fun to walk around and see all the groups with they're tents selling stuff to raise money for their clubs. These guys were acting all crazy in the fountain...weird....

They had this little art show room, pretty sweet stuff...

i really like this one...
the textures on this one were sweet....if you look close, you can see that they used a hot glue gun for the white part of the petals....very interesting...

Well they had this one thing, to raise money, you just hit these tiles Taekwondo style.....bammmmm......and you get some money, prizes, etc....even though for hitting 10 tiles you get a pack of cigarettes (didnt want those), so to avoid that, I tried for 15 tiles....lets see how I did....(Sorry the camera man was not instructed that you cannot turn the camera vertically....lol)

Sosi's version...

Loudermilk's meet my family...

As Mike, Hye-Young, and Jeena were in California, they decided to go to Corona and hang out with Sosimo's and my family. They went out to Miguel Sr. Restaurant for Mexican food (Mike you dogged me man....ahhh) with them before Wednesday night Bible study at my home church, Calvary Chapel Living Water. Mike actually taught the Bible study there. It was pretty cool.
I'm so glad the Loudermilk's got to meet my family and Sosi's, and I know it was a blessing for our family too! God bless you guys...

Anmyeondo Part 3...

Well this Flower festival park had a little exit near the end, and it was the entrance to a beach...it was pretty cool...I have never seen a Korea beach before, so this was my first impression. It wasnt Okinawa, but it was still beautiful^^. But Daniel Kim told me that this was an ugly beach to him, so if a Korean says it...there are probably better ones out there...hopefully I will see some...

we walked down to the water....it was pretty cold...

So we went back in the park, and we see this band starting to practice, and its a Mexican Mariachi band....ohhhh sooo cool....we sat down and listened, had a great time laughing at the silly things they did...they were really good though...

Ohhhhhh.....hahah.....when we heard this guy, it reminded me of Nacho Libre, and he pretended that he was playing the trumpet....."Bruhbuhduhbuh deeeeeeeeee!" haha...thats Pastor Tommy's and my inside joke....good times....

this one was "La Cucaracha" hehe...soo funny...and yes, I dont know the words....

this one was hilarious, that one guy making all those funny faces, and really weird dance moves....opfff! sooo funny...

Well that was pretty much our time at the Festival, so we took off to go get a late lunch...just about 2 or 3 miles from the same beach we were at in Anmyeondo...We found a place that sold seafood on the beach, soo tight....
it was a little pricey, but it was worth it! we had so much food.....clams....mmmm
big prawns.....mmm....
raw fish.....ahhhh......
and fish soup....
my little dish....
this place was really great....we had a great time in Anmyeondo...Daniel Kim got tired, but I offered to drive back home. It was pretty cool, just kinda followed the navigation system, even though we still got lost a bit, hehe....i love to drive...anyways....thanks Daniel Kim for taking us!

Anmyeondo Flower Close-ups...

This is one blog I do not have to explain....just beautiful pictures...
